Section 2 - What were seaside holidays like when our parents/carers and grandparents were young?

The main objective in this section is to encourage the children to really look at images to gather information.

The first page asks children to make careful observations of scenes from a holiday in 1915 so the differences will be more obvious to them.

The next few pages focus on this activity asking specific questions to begin to let children observe more closely and use clues in the photographs.

There then follows some sorting activities where children need to put into action their observation skills.

Lastly they are asked to list the clues that they have used to 'date' the photographs.
