Section 1 - When do we have holidays?

You can work with the children to produce a simple time line for a year showing the times when children have school holidays. From this you can go on to discuss those times when they may go away on holiday.

Next is a modern image of Great Yarmouth. Help the children to find clues to show them what sort of holiday is shown in the picture. Use the click and add text feature to record what has been found.

You can then use the maps to record places where the children may have been on holiday:

• Locate on a UK map the places that children and/or their families have visited;
• Locate on a World map the places that children and/or their families have visited.
