Experience Matters

Advisory Matters provides high quality advice and support to its clients. For this reason all consultants must have had at least two years experience working in the area of educational advice and consultancy. This experience might well have been gained working in a Local Education Authority advisory service, national body or in a commercial environment. It presently only accepts membership from independent consultants, although you can be an employee of a commercial company with fees being paid to that company.

It is most likely that you are also a member of an appropriate national association, for example, Naace.

Principles Matter

To become a member of Advisory Matters you must be nominated by two other members and subscribe to our principles:

  • To accept the context in which learning takes place and start from there

  • To provide practical advice and support drawn from evidence and research

  • To be honest, understanding and sensitive to the needs of individuals

  • To be learners as much as teachers

  • To recognise our strengths and concentrate in those areas

  • To undertake tasks with efficiency and enthusiasm

  • To attempt to give more than we promise

Opportunity Matters

If you do not meet the criteria above - for example, you are a teacher in school and see consultancy as a career move - then do contact us and we can put you in touch with a member in your area. By working with that member you may gain experience so that, in the fullness of time, you can be nominated for membership in your own right.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
